I’ve worked overhead utilities in a few different jurisdictions on the West Coast and this has always been the case. Guy wires are owned by the company whose facilities are supported. If they both balk, I'd talk to your local government, councillor etc and see if they can provide any assistance/leverage to get it resolved, but in the mean time, just keep at both companies and ask lots of questions and be polite but annoying in contacting them, ask to speak to both of them on a conference call - ie 2 supervisors, basically make yourself a polite but annoying pain in their ass to the point that its easier for them to fix the issue, than it is to ignore it. Ask them to address it as a safety concern, that will likely light a fire under them, It sounds like a case of someone not wanting to bother with the job. It will 100% depend on your jurisdiciton - but in the area i live the poles are 100% responsibility of the power company, and the communications companies have an arrangement to use them.Ĭall the power company back, and tell them you want it in writing that they are not responsible for the guy wire.
